The History of the Polyclinic at Národní
The Polyclinic at Národní is one of the first and most prestigious medical facilities in the Czech Republic.
The Polyclinic was founded in 1993 by Dr. Martin Jan Stransky, a member of one of the most famous inter-war families of Czechoslovakia. Dr Stransky is the only doctor in the Czech Republic, who is fully trained and Board-Certified in the U.S.and who maintains an active medical academic appointment in the US as Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Stransky (www.narodni.cz) is the director of numerous medical programs, is on the medical panel of the American and British embassies in Prague, and serves as an active advisor to numerous organizations
The Policlinic has physicians of all major specialty and sub-specialty areas. All physicians are fluent in English and have a proven record of professional as well as academic accomplishment, serving as faculty members in virtually every teaching hospital in Prague, which ensures continuity of care in case of hospitalization.
The Polyclinic at Národní is located in the famous Topič building on Národní street in the very center of Prague. The building is on the registry of national landmarks, and now serves as headquarters for cultural and medical activities.
